I have always loved learning different kinds of languages, but I really started to get motivated to learn them when I went to Holland. English is required in most countries (particularly in Europe), and that was a bonus because everyone over there already knew a little bit of it. Actually, in Holland, most employees must speak fluent English in order to get a job since the country is a major export in Europe and English is the business language. Unfortunately though, since English is my first language, everyone knew what I was saying, and I didn't know what they were saying. :P And there were a couple of instances were I ran into someone who knew no English what-so-ever and I felt bad because I couldn't help them.
The languages that I am currently learning right now are:
- Spanish (in school)
- Dutch (as mentioned before)
- German (actually to be honest, I'm not a big fan of the German language for some reason, but I might be visiting Germany some time soon and I would like to know some of it.)
- Italian (I absolutely love it - it is a beautiful language!)
Also, in the near future, I will be learning French and Swedish. :D
Just a few basic phrases from each:

Oooh! Italian! It IS a lovely language; if I wasn't learning Irish, I would so want to learn that. :) A lot of songs I like to sing are in Italian, though, so I unmeaningly do know some Italian... :D
