Why I Love Getting Itunes Cards :D

I love music :)
It's always been a big part of my life. I grew up in a very musical, talented family, and several of my family members have recorded and made CD's. I'm not a very good singer compared to some of my cousins and uncles, even though people consider that my strongest musical talent. I've always been involved with music since I've been young - I started getting piano lessons from my mom in 3rd grade, and then we took a break, and I started it back up in 6th-7th grade and I still take them now, which is around (give or take a few years) 6 years. I also started playing the Clarinet in 4th grade (that's when my old school started band) and I have been playing it ever since -- 7 1/2 years!! :O And of course, I enjoy both of them very much. If I could learn another instrument, it would probably be percussion because I would want to improve my sense of rhythm or the flute, because that was back up option when I first chose the clarinet.

I sang a lot in front of crowds when I was young but then I got a great fear of singing in front of people and I refused to sing in front of crowds until only recently (around two years ago.) I enjoyed singing as a little girl, but I really started to like it after watching Phantom of the Opera. Cheesy, I know :P, but that's what inspired me to become a better singer. I trained my voice off of Emmy Rossum (the girl who played Christine Daae.) So, because of that, my voice can be easily compared to hers. It used to be that I sounded exactly like her (I could imitate her voice perfectly) but now I've added my own "voice" to it.

(Emmy Rossum - Christine Daae)

I also enjoy just listening to music in general. I have my iPod with me everyday and I have a million genres of music on it. I listen to a lot of Pop and Rock, Soundtracks from music, Gospel and Christian songs, and a few country (but only artists that sound more pop than country, like Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, etc.) I also have some electronic (Owl City), Alternative, Pop Latino (I like listening to music in other languages), and songs from musicals.
I've only seen three musicals in my life. My first was Wicked, and I watched that in Chicago. I saw West Side Story on Broadway in New York City, and then I saw Les Miserables in London. Out of all of them, I probably enjoyed Wicked the most, and I'm not sure if I like it better because it was my first or I liked the music better. I really liked the plot and special affects, and the characters were really fun to watch. I really want to see Phantom in the Opera, (I've only seen the movie, which I've heard, is worse than the actual performance on stage.)

(Sorry that it's crooked - I couldn't figure out how to put it right side up :p)

I've been in two musicals in my life. My first one was Cinderella and I was cast as the Queen, and then my second one, which ended less than a week ago, was Oklahoma! and I was Kate (or an extra with a name.) My favorite out of the two was definitely Cinderella because everything was much more fresh and new. It was the first musical our school had done in ten years, so everything was really excited and anxious to see how it would turn out. I loved my role as well, I like being regal and royal and a pain to my husband and son. :)The cast was great and I loved every second of it. I could have done it several times without getting tired of it. Oklahoma! was okay, but it wasn't the experience I had with my first one. I liked the plot better in Oklahoma! but I didn't have as many good memories as I did with Cinderella.

I'd like to do something with music in the future. The college I'm going to has an amazing music program, but I'm going into things for my writing since that is my #1 right now (as far as my talents go.) I'm going to be in the choir and musicals there as well. In the future, I'm not sure if I'm just going to sing for my church or if I will get involved with some program somewhere or something like that. I'm not really sure. It's kind of a i'll-do-it-during-my-free-time sort of thing.
